Château Les Ricaudelles
The EARL Chateau Franc Couplet estate is a family affair, where the know-how of working the vines is passed on from generation to generation. Always looking for new grape varieties to create and new vines to exploit, Eric and Sophie acquired the Chateau les Ricaudelles estate in 2014. The latest addition to our production catalog, we invite you to discover the rich notes of this Bordeaux grape variety, during a tasting at our Landerrouat estate.
Les Ricaudelles : the difference
Located in the town of Caplong, the vineyard of Chateau Les Ricaudelles has been greatly restructured by the team in order to plant new grape varieties and thus diversify the range of offered products.
The choice was made to restructure (plant at higher density) and innovate : thus Malbec, a red grape variety, was planted on a large part of the plots.
This gives the wine, special characteristics.

Surface : 25 hectares.

Rendement : rendement de 55 hl / ha.

Terroir : argilo-calcaire, et argilo-limoneux.

Cépages : 65 % Merlot, 25 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Cabernet Franc, Vignes de 20 ans en moyenne.

Viticulture : taille courte ; enherbement naturel maîtrisé ; augmentation de la hauteur de palissage ; effeuillage systématique côté levant ; traitements maîtrisés et réfléchis ; utilisation précoce du système d’analyses des baies pour raisonner les dates de récoltes.

Vinification : éraflage systématique ; macération pré-fermentaire à froid (3-4 jours) et cuvaison d’environ 5 semaines selon la qualité et les dégustations régulières ; micro-oxygénation sous marc.

Élevage : en cuves inox.

The red Chateau les Ricaudelles is available in the 2019 vintage ( gold medal at Bordeaux 2022, Silver medal at Bourg et Blaye 2020, Gold medal at the Feminalise 2020 ) at the property, as well as the 2021 rosé.
